Congratulations to the 14 finalists and the 5 winners of the 2023 Geelong Volunteer of the Year Award Winners, who were recently presented with Certificates and Awards by Mayor Cr Trent Sullivan and sponsors at the City of Greater Geelong Office.
The five winners were:
- Vicki Vanlohuizen, nominated by Feed Me Bellarine Geelong and Surf Coast
- Lisa Keys, nominated by South Barwon SES
- Ian Arinosi, nominated by Amber Community
- Audrey Felniak, nominated by Bellarine Living and Learning Centre
- Peter Holland, nominated by Uniting Barwon
Our thanks to key organiser Helen Hunter, CEO of Volunteering Geelong, sponsors including Geelong Connected Communities, City of Greater Geelong, Standby Security and Kardinia Rotary Club.
Mayor Sullivan and Patron Keith Fagg led a number of excellent speakers on the achievements and success of volunteers in the Geelong region. It was a heartwarming event where many of those who serve the community with energy, enthusiasm and without expectation of reward had their generosity recognised and celebrated by their peers.
